Our Name
All Nations
We proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord of all nations. Ethnic and
cultural differences are not barriers between people under
the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We are working to affirm this
in everyday life and to celebrate our varied gifts in the
worship of the one true God. And Jesus taught, and said
to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house
of prayer for all the nations?'" (Mark 11:17a; Isaiah 56:7)
Christian
We call ourselves Christians because we are part of the body
of believers who follow Christ, the Messiah. It's not because
we are good people that we follow Christ; rather, it is because
God has been good to us through Jesus Christ. We need Jesus
Christ to make us right with God. Only the power of the Holy
Spirit, which raised Jesus Christ from the dead, can make us
good.
Reformed
Our beliefs and creeds are based on the Bible. The Word of
God is preached every Sunday. We believe God claims every
part of our lives, not just a "religious" part, and that we
must reform our lives every day as we learn to follow Jesus.
Our worship services, Sunday School, and Bible studies are
times when we listen to God's Word of love, reconciliation,
and justice. In all we do, we praise Him together.
Church
We are a community united by faith. We express this unity on
the Lord's Day, when we come together to join in worship.
But we also find opportunities for fellowship during the week
in each other's homes, in midweek meetings in the church
building, and in special projects. Also, all members of the
church are baptized. Baptism is the special sign of incorporation
into the fellowship of Christ's death and resurrection. Each
month those who confess Christ as their Saviour join in the
celebration of the Lord's Supper. This special celebration
of God's saving love is also called Holy Communion.
